Free Racquetball Clinic Join us from 11am-noon on Saturday, March 13th for an introduction to racquetball. This is FREE to all adult member (14 and older please).

National Doubles East Side had two players travel to Arizona for the National Doubles Racquetball Tournament. Taylor Knoth and his partner won the Men's Open Division, and Carol Loomis got second in the Mixed 30+ A Division and in the Women's A division with her partners. Congratulations!
YOUTH PROGRAMS
Spring Break 1-Week Camp March 22-26 Monday-Friday 9am-4:30pm Ages 6-12
Join us for this camp filled with fun games and activities. Kids will play racquetball, wallyball, indoor hockey, and more! They will also spend time with one of our Certified Personal Trainers learning about nutrition and fitness, and they will swim every day. Bring your swim suit, towel, lunch and snacks!
Members $130/week camp (add $20 to attend When I'm In Charge Class)
Non-Members $170/week camp (add $25 to attend When I'm In Charge Class)

American Red Cross When I'm In charge Tues., March 23 10am-12:30pm Ages 8-11
The "When I'm In Charge" class was developed by the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross to provide children ages 8 to 11 safe options if they were to find themselves home alone for any reason. The class reaches as many as 2000 children per year in the Portland and surrounding areas. The course is targeted at enhancing self-reliance; preventing and preparing for emergencies. In addition the course now includes information on phone, gun and internet safety. This is a 2 1/2 hour class. Parents are invited to attend for the last 30 minutes.

Swim Lessons begin March 2nd. This is an "accelerated" session, which include two Friday classes. Everybody gets a break over Spring Vacation and we will start a new session March 30th. Classes are filling quickly as parents get their kids ready for the summer swim season. Register Early!
Swim Meet March 6th at Milwaukie Club. Good Luck Swimmers!! The next session for Swim Team begins March 30th. Our swim team practices Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm. Cost is $160 per quarter for members, $190 per quarter for non-members.
Junior Certification Kids under the age of 13 are not permitted in the fitness centers unless they are Junior Certified. Kids ages 10-12 who complete this program are granted adult privileges. Our next class begins March 30th. Classes will be held Tuesday evening 6-7:30pm. Can't make class? Contact Jesse for private or semi-private classes.

WELLNESS ESSENTIALS - FREE LECTURE:
Tues., Mar. 23rd: Lecture "Wellness Essentials" presented by Complete Health Chiropractic Center. 12:00-1:00pm. This lecture is FREE to all members. Must sign up at the service desk by Friday, March 19th.
FITNESS SEMINAR SERIES - East Side Endurance:
Join coach / triathlete Bryant Howard in any one or all of our East Side ENDURANCE SEMINARS! These quick-hitting educational forums apply to individuals of all abilities and experience levels. Be YOUR personal best as you elevate your knowledge and your abilities, meet other members with similar interests and establish an action plan for your spring and summer activities! Register at the service desk for ONE or for ALL Seminars; each seminar is offered on Thursday night, Clackamas Club, 7:15-8:00pm. Only $20/clinic. Register for all 6 for only $100 (one free!)

Beyond the Treadmill: this clinic focuses on specific drills and strength exercises for improving speed and for injury prevention. Discussion includes nutrition for training and racing as well as how-to prepare for events.

Bryant Howard, Coach of the Year and well known triathlete and trainer INVITES YOU to participate in one of our three East Side Endurance DAY CAMPS! Everyone welcome....all 'completers and competers' can benefit from these 5 - 6 hour CAMPS, held at the Clackamas facility.
March 13th, Saturday 1-6pm: DISTANCE RUNNING
Gait analysis, skill & drill training, lactate test, racing tips & training schedule.
April 11th, Sunday 1-6pm: CYCLING
Bike Fit & Power Test, bike handling skills, riding techniques, repairs & schedule
May 15th, Saturday 12-6pm: TRIATHLON
Swim demo, bike fit, gait analysis, training schedule & ancillary training

TAI CHI: begins March 4th. Classes will be held Thursdays, 1:45-2:30pm for six weeks. Tai Chi is a class designed to help with balance, flexibility and calmness with an emphasis on deep breathing. This is a great way to relieve stress! This class is designed for the senior population.
