Group Fitness Class Descriptions

 

Classes vary by location.

*= Lifestyle classes, FREE for all Executive Members. Check in at Service Desk before the start of class. Fitness members and non-members welcome with a drop-in fee if space is available.

 

 

$Adaptive FitnessThis adaptive class is designed for the developmentally delayed young adults, ages 10 and older. Classes incorporates cycling, strength building, balance and stretching exercises.

 

ABS & Back – Stand Tall! Perform 15 minutes of extremely focused abdominal and back exercises aimed at strengthening muscles which serve to properly align & support the spine.

 

Aqua Zumba!Jump into the Latin-inspired dance fitness party that makes working out a splash! Aqua moves set to music.

 

Cardio Camp Challenge your metabolism to keep up with this class! Drills utilizing the jump rope, step, and your own body weight make this class unique. Take the intensity to YOUR level.


Cardio Kickboxing – Jab, punch and kick yourself into shape with this 40-min. class for all fitness levels. Empowerment has never felt so good or been so good for you!
 

Cardio Splash – This class format is designed for a more advanced water workout utilizing sports conditioning moves to create a more intense cardiovascular workout.

Cardio Shake-Up A cross-training class at it’s finest!! This cardio class is a rotation featuring a different cardio step format each week. The schedule is posted monthly outside of Studio #1. Class may utilize a variety of group exercise class equipment.


Core Conditioning – Stand taller, look leaner! Perform 15-minutes of focused abdominal and back exercises aimed at strengthening muscles which serve to properly align and support the spine.

Classically Fit Enjoy this social and challenging class that will increase balance, strength and flexibility for the over 50 population. All fitness levels will benefit from rotating exercises using dumbbells, bands, and the best tool of all, your body!
 

*Cycle  Burn up to 450 calories in 45 minutes! Yes! Everyone will win with this 45 minute indoor ride set to fun, motivating music. New participants will be properly fit for their bike. Class size is limited. To reserve your spot, check-in at the Service Desk.

 

*Cycle ExpressA class for those who have less time to dedicate to a fitness class. This is a 30- minute indoor cycle set to fun, motivating music. Class size is limited. To reserve your spot, check-in at the Service Desk.

 

*Cycle Extreme-   Jump-start your day the early morning cycle way! No more excuses about lack of time for a workout. YOU pick your work-out length of cycle time. Class runs for an hour, but you stay for as long as your time allows! New participants will be properly fit for their bike. Class size is limited. Cycle X-Training –
Cardio, strength training, and more in an efficient hour! A promised 1/2 hour of indoor cycling followed by... guess you'll have to come and see for yourself!

Double-it-Up!!This Step class utilizes TWO or more pieces of exercise equipment in conjunction with the adjustable Reebok platforms for double the cardio push and double the fun!

 

ForeverFit Strength - Enjoy this group fitness class with the use of a chair while listening to motivating music. This class incorporates seated and standing movements which strengthen the muscular system. Hand weights, tubes and small exercise balls add to the experience.

 

ForeverFit Yoga With the support of a chair, enjoy yoga poses and positions while increasing your overall balance and muscle endurance. Strengthen your body and relax your mind.


Group Lift
 Learn to improve weight training form and technique. Muscular strength and endurance training performed in a group exercise format. Beginners will experience a rapid increase in strength, while the experienced participant will discover a fun and challenging way to improve and maintain muscular endurance. 
 

Group Power – Your HOUR OF POWER! This 60 min barbell program strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors.


Group Sculpt – Build long, lean muscle and core strength with free weights, total body toning exercises, and yoga inspired movements. This class will help students to not only strengthen and sculpt their bodies but to also cultivate a sense of inner strength and overall well-being. 
 

H20- X – Proven results while protecting joints. Cardiovascular conditioning and muscle strengthening performed in the water. Aqua dumbbells and other floating devices are used to enhance the strength component of class while the water cushions the impact.

 

H2O CircuitPush your limits with the safety of the water. Aquatic exercise set in a circuit format.

 

*Mat PilatesStand taller, look leaner! Achieve profound results as you learn multi-muscle exercise technique, core strength and balance. Class size is limited. To reserve your spot, check-in at the Service Desk.

 

Middle Management – A non-cardio, functional training class that concentrates on strengthening and reshaping your legs, abdominal and back muscles.

 

30 Minute Meltdown - Melt it off in 30 minutes! A Personal Trainer guides this class to offer intense interval training that is proven to INCREASE the fat BURNING process AND the muscle BUILDING effect.

NCAP H20 Exercise - Same as H20 –X but held OFF SITE at the North Clackamas Aquatic Park.

 

*Pilates ESAC– Stand taller, look leaner! Achieve profound results as you learn the multi-muscle exercise technique developed & introduced by Joseph Pilates over 90 years ago. Join us today so that you too can increase your flexibility, core strength, balance, concentration and control in order to optimize your level of physical fitness.

 

*Pilates Level 2 ESAC- This class combines the best elements of Pilates and Yoga to create an efficient flexibility, core strength & balance class.    


$Pilates WSAC – Achieve profound results as you learn the multi-muscle exercise technique developed and introduced by Joseph Hubertus Pilates over 90 years ago. Increase your flexibility, core strength, balance, concentration and control in order to optimize your level of physical fitness.  *Quarterly workshop is required for new participants with instructor Britt Schanel. SF LOGOsmallSilver&Fit® Experience – Silver&Fit Experience is for moderately active older adults who exercise in some way one to two days per week. The class is designed to increase the participant’s flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, coordination, agility, reaction-time, muscular strength, and cardiovascular endurance. (45 minutes)


SF Excel smallSilver&Fit® Excel – 
Silver&Fit Excel is for very active older adults who regularly exercise three or more days per week. The class is designed to increase the participant’s flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, coordination, agility, reaction-time, muscular strength, power, and cardiovascular endurance. (60 minutes)

 

SilverSneakers® – CardioFit – Get Up & Go with an aerobics class for you-safe, heart-healthy and gentle on the joints. The workout includes easy-to-follow low-impact movement, and upper-body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercises designed to energize your active lifestyle..

 

SilverSneakers® – MSROM –(Muscular Strength and Range of Movement)– Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

 

Step & StrengthThe combination of strength training and cardio training in this class will test & take your endurance to the next level! This format utilizes an adjustable Reebok platform, barbells and dumbbells.

 

Step Challenge  This class utilizes an adjustable REEBOK platform. Various stepping patterns will provide the cardiovascular intensity level you desire.

Studio Ride  An intense 45-min. workout that will challenge you physically and add a new dimension to your workout. All fitness levels are welcome. **Friday class requires min. early sign-ups. See Service Desk for details.  

$To-Shin Do This form of martial arts offers adventure-based personal development, self defense and mind-focusing skills. Brought to the West by Black Belt Hall of Fame member Stephen K. Hayes, and taught in Portland by instructor and Second Degree Black Belt Thomas Luce, this 1200 year-old tradition teaches the skills, focus, and discipline needed to live a bright, healthy, empowered life. Turbo H2O Pump up your water workout! This class combines sports conditioning & traditional water cardio moves for one dynamic water workout.

 

*Yoga – Yoga is proven to increase mental and physical well-being. For beginning and intermediate students alike are welcome to improve health by focusing on proper breath, alignment, and individual flexibility and strength. You will progress through a combination of flowing and sustained postures and will learn to hold the postures for an extended time. Class size is limited. Yoga Basics and Beyond – An introduction to the fundamentals of yoga, emphasizing principles of alignment, basic standing poses and elements of the sun salutation. A great class offering something for participants of all levels. 


Yoga for The People A challenging class, open to yogis of all levels. Whether you are trying your first yoga class or looking to challenge your current practice, you won't be disappointed. This class focuses on strength, balance, and flexibility to improve the lives of "everyday people!"

 

Youth Power Play – Organized group training for youth

ages 8-12 lead by a certified personal trainer. This class will host a variety of different fitness activities each week. FREE to all family executive members.

 

*The Yoga BuzzThis 45-minute class combines Yoga positions which flow into mat Pilates exercises. The result is a core strengthening, muscular stretching, mental relaxing experience. Class size is limited. To reserve your spot, check-in at the Service Desk.

 

ZUMBA - Ditch the workout and join the PARTY! This easy to follow, Latin based aerobic class is perfect for all generations and all fitness levels. Working out is easy when you look forward to. You’re invited! Join the party.
